Free Online Workshop in collaboration with Ecclesiastical Sewing

To sign up, complete the sign up form and you will receive an email with all the information about how to get ready for the class, the zoom link, and more.

The session will be recorded for you to have for future reference and in case you cannot attend the live session. The link to the recording will not have an expiry date so you can watch it whenever and as many times as you want.

🕯️ What We’ll Be Stitching

In this free workshop, we’ll be creating The Star Cross ⭐️ a festive goldwork design that captures light and hope through a radiant cross, centred by a star and framed with golden leaves.
The design was created especially for Christmas and can be finished as a tree ornament or a keepsake.

You’ll learn:

• How to transfer the pattern using the prick and pounce method

• Padding and appliqué with metallic leather

• Couching and chipping with gold threads

These are traditional goldwork techniques, suitable for both beginners and experienced embroiderers.

I will give you all the tips about the project and even inspire you to make your own version with supplies you might have at home.

✨ Materials & Kits

To make the same version I’ll be stitching in class, you’ll find The Star Cross Goldwork Kit available in my Shop.

The kit includes all the goldwork materials used in the project, carefully chosen for quality and harmony.

For those who wish to transfer the design using the traditional method, you can also find the Prick and Pounce Kit HERE.

Ecclesiastical Sewing will provide a free printable patterns and will be teaching how to construct the Christmas ornaments — so you can complete your embroidered Star Cross as a beautiful decoration for the season.

There’s no obligation to purchase any kit to take part — you’re welcome to join with materials you already have at home.
