The live sessions were recorded and the link to the recordings don't expire so you are able to start the project whenever you want and I'm always available if you have any questions along the way.
For those of you who want to learn goldwork embroidery and would like to get started with this beautiful technique, this is the perfect chance!
During these sessions you will learn all the process from the very beginning when you trace the pattern to the last stitch of the design.
The cost of the workshop includes kit with all the materials needed to complete the project: fabrics, threads, purls, needles and even a small mat to cut the metals.
Apart from what's included in the kit you will need:
- 6 inches hand free embroidery hoop
- Goldwork embroidery scissors or embroidery scissors that you will use only to cut metals. I recommend 4″ Janome Kai Embroidery
- Mellor (optional - you can also use one of the chenille needles included in the kit)
- Heat erasable pen for fabric such as PILOT FriXion Clicker Erasable Gel ink pen. If you can't get one of these a sharp pencil will do the job too.
During this workshop I teach and demonstrated live all the necessary techniques to complete the project. If you have any questions about this you can contact me and we can discuss it.
After completing the class you will be able to work on other goldwork projects and to recognise some of the most common metal threads used in goldwork embroidery. It will inspire you to create your own designs as you will learn that it is a lot easier than what it appears to be.
In this class you will learn the basics of goldwork embroidery techniques and how to embroider this forget me nots stem.
This is a workshop aimed for the beginner in goldwork or for those that would like to embroider this project as you will learn everything you need to complete it: how to transfer the fabric, how to add a backing fabric for a goldwork project, how to recognise different metals, goldwork purls and threads, how to blend colours with check purls, some of the basic goldwork techniques such us: couching, chipping, cutwork, and more!
The kit includes the printed pattern which is an adapted design taken from a XIX Century book for embroidery patterns that I thought was ideal to work in goldwork with colored purls.
Looking forward to getting you started with goldwork embroidery!
